Summer in the Langa del Sole is a string of parties and festivals for all tastes. They are happily local events, typical food meets glasses of native wine accompanied with folkloristic music and shows. They are a great excuse to visit the deeper parts of the Langhe and meet the locals!
To help you decide, we’ve rounded up all the local festivals and organized them in order from June to November. Don’t miss a single one!
SERVAJ FESTIVAL – LA FESTA DELLA LANGA DEL SOLE
Diano d’Alba, September 26 & 28, 2019.
Mark this date on the calendar. Diano d’Alba will host the most important festival of the Langa del Sole. Two days, September 26th and 28th, in which the beauty and the goodness of the deep Langa will be on full display. The event will be the occasion to inaugurate the leveling of San Sebastiano, the door to the Langa del Sole. In addition to the inauguration, there will be typical cuisine all day long, music, outdoor activities, falconry shows and much more. More updates soon!
MONTELUPO ALBESE
Da Cròta an Cròta, June 30 . Walk through wineries, vineyards and fields, to taste typical wines, excellent dishes and discover the countryside, accompanied by music and songs.
ALBARETTO DELLA TORRE
Alta Langa Rock, July 6-7. Live music, aperitifs in the town center, BBQ and local wines.
BOSSOLASCO
Eat & Dance Festival, every Thursday from July 11-25 and August 1, 8, 22. From 7:00 pm, freshly prepared local dishes and music on the streets of the town.
Formaggi sotto le stelle, Saturday, July 27. Candlelight dinner and local cheese tasting paired with wine. Reservations are necessary – tel: 348 6817531, email: proloco@bossolascolanghe.it.
MOMBARCARO
Sagra della patata, July 26-31. The star of this festival is the renowned potato from the Upper Belbo Valley, also known as the Mombarcaro potato, rich in starch, vitamin C and potassium. Food stands, dance evenings, local crafts and gastronomic tours.
RODELLO
Festa del Grano, July 27-28, & festa patronale di San Lorenzo, August 1-4. Convivial dinners, dances, music and the traditional gathering of vintage tractors. The following week, the patron sant feast is celebrated: music and dinners under the stars, visits to the Dedalo Monti museum, entertainment for children, and markets.
LEQUIO BERRIA
Festa Patronale di San Lorenzo, August 3-11. Music and dancing. The traditional pallapugna ball game, and the food and wine walk, MANGIA EN D’ANDA, through the streets of the town.
LA MORRA
Mangialonga, August 25. The most famous food and wine tours of the Langhe among the vineyards of Barolo, a UNESCO world heritage site. Four kilometers to drink and to taste the local culinary delicacies. A must at the end of August. Info: mangialonga.com
BENEVELLO
Festa patronale, July 27 – August 3. Food stands and music. On July 27, an afternoon walk through the woods and hills of the area. More info on langhe.net.
NIELLA BELBO
Festa del Villeggiante, July 11-14. Gastronomic tastings, music and historic car rally.
SERRALUNGA
Langa’s got talent, August 25. The Langhe’s talent show of dancers, artists, singers and musicians. Piazza Umberto 1, 21:00.
SERRAVALLE LANGHE
Festa patronale dell’Assunta, August 16-18 (dates TBD). Games in the square, excursions, music, exhibitions and of course, food stands where you can taste the local dishes.
DIANO D’ALBA
Di Söri in Söri, October 20. Six food and wine walks, the first 5 at the farms of member producers and the last at the Cantina Comunale dei Söri. You walk, drink and enjoy the territory. Not to be missed! More info: soridiano.it
PAROLDO
Estate di San Martino, November 8-10. It’s called summer, but it’s November. One of the main festivals dedicated to San Martino (11 November) in the Alta Langa: flea markets, food and wine stands, dinners based on bagna caoda and the festival of the Masche (typical dinner and tales of the “witches” of Langa).
